As a technical writer at BetterBe, you will ensure that our API based SaaS always has up-to-date documentation. Our product is complex, but you know how to write clear and consistent documentation for it. In doing so, you will help reduce onboarding time of both customers and new employees enormously.
The target groups you write for vary from developers to application users, both external and internal. By communicating frequently with your own colleagues (developers, product specialists, support and product owners) and users you get the information you need and make sure that your specialty is involved in the process on time. The primary language for our documentation is English.
A large part of our body of documentation has yet to be developed. This means that we are looking for a Technical Writer that is experienced in setting up the proper structure and guidelines, and can help create a process and mindset within the team where the creation of high quality documentation is a natural step within both.
You will spend a large part of your time within one of our development teams (we currently have one team dedicated to our API and one to our Management Application) but you will also be part of our Documentation Team, which we are currently forming.
Working remote from home is of course possible, but since we are growing and developing as an organization, we think it’s important spend a fair share of your time with your colleagues on a regular basis in our office in Enschede (near Twente University).
You’re an analytical thinker that can explain and structure complex matter in a clear and understandable way. You’re very precise and have high quality standards. You have very good ‘people skills’ and know how to coach your developer colleagues into becoming better writers.

This specialized API generates real-time calculations of complex financial lease products across all possible configurations of lease cars. With this they serve clients from the European top 10 in the leasing industry, including leading names such as Volkswagen, LeasePlan, Directlease and PSA Finance (Peugeot/Citroën), Daimler and BMW. BetterBe employs more than 45 people with a shared passion. The management structure is flat and the atmosphere is driven and committed.
BetterBe has close links with the University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences and is co-founder of the Twente University Center for Cybersecurity Research (TUCCR).
