BetterBe is proud to sponsor HyDriven, a student team based at the University of Twente in the Enschede, The Netherlands. HyDriven participates in Formula Student, an international engineering competition where university teams design, build, and race single-seater cars. After having successfully created the first hydrogen class in European Formula Student competitions, HyDriven sets themselves apart as a team focused on hydrogen-powered vehicles.
Their team consists of 32 dedicated students who have spent the past year developing their latest car, Nova. Their work represents an important step forward in exploring alternative fuel technologies in motorsport, providing valuable learning opportunities for the next generation of engineers.
HyDriven’s technical team has achieved several notable improvements in their new car Nova:
– Tripled hydrogen capacity with a new 1,000-gram hydrogen tank
– Doubled top speed from 40 to 90 km/h with new planetary gearbox design
– 50% increase in cooling capacity with serial radiator configuration
– 50% reduction in battery pack volume while maintaining energy capacity
– 15-kilogram weight reduction in the chassis alone
BetterBe commends HyDriven’s bold vision, commitment to exploring new technologies, and astonishing technical achievements. The team’s dedication to continuous improvement and innovation aligns well with BetterBe’s values of “Be Better and Dream Big”: don’t settle for the status quo, and always pursue betterment.
“As HyDriven prepares for their upcoming racing season, we look forward to seeing how their hard work and engineering skills perform on the track.”
